Responsibilities
Advise on regulatory and industry requirements related to content safety, consumer protection, intellectual property, privacy, and data security. Provide practical product counseling across web hosting, site creation, content publishing, ecommerce, social media, and other digital products. Provide subject matter expertise on data protection and privacy frameworks, including GDPR and CCPA. Develop scalable processes and workflows for documenting and maintaining regulatory and privacy compliance. Monitor emerging and upcoming regulations and help the organization prepare for changes in applicable requirements worldwide. Participate in relevant industry groups and represent the organization in discussions with regulators, government agencies, and officials. Work closely with trust & safety teams to develop and oversee policies that support freedom of expression and user safety while meeting legal obligations. Help the legal function scale effectively as regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements continue to grow. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks, develop practical solutions, and support timely product launches.
