Core
Specialized maintenance of industrial pumping systems, including centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, and deep well systems, for mining and infrastructure operations.
Role type
Senior IC mechanical maintenance specialist (pumping systems)
Builds
Pumping systems for water and slurry transport in mining and industrial settings
Domain
Mining and industrial infrastructure
Required skills
mechanical assembly and maintenance of centrifugal and submersible pumps, hydraulic system knowledge, pipe and valve installation, pump alignment and balancing, fault diagnosis (cavitation, vibration, leaks), metrology and measurement tools, technical drawing interpretation, preventive and corrective maintenance planning, deep well system maintenance
Preferred skills
experience in open-pit mining and mine dewatering systems, familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems, ability to mentor less experienced staff

centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, deep well systems, hydraulic systems, industrial piping, valves, flanges, alignment tools, flow and pressure testing equipment
Responsibilities
Perform assembly, inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance of centrifugal and submersible pumps and auxiliary equipment. Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic failures such as cavitation, low flow, pressure loss, and vibration. Install and maintain industrial piping systems for water and slurry transport. Maintain deep well pumping systems including submersible pumps and support structures. Align pump sets according to established procedures and tolerances. Conduct field inspections, identify anomalies, and recommend interventions. Execute flow, pressure, and performance tests on pumping systems. Register services performed, measurements taken, and components replaced. Communicate operational deviations and risks. Support the definition of maintenance scope and resource requirements.
