Responsibilities
Deep dive into engineering BOM to ensure parts are sourced at target levels; Conduct supplier selection and onboard unique vendors; Drive on-time delivery using unique solutions; Partner with suppliers for concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost models, and joint design development; Drive development and consolidation of manufacturing BOM; Manage total cost of program from NPI to mass production; Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize lead time; Complete BOM risk assessment and alternate component sourcing; Ensure completion of component qualifications; Reduce complexity through commonality optimization; Lead cost engineering to converge cost curve; Manage ad-hoc cost issues like tariffs and inflation; Manage supply issues to ensure on-time delivery at target cost
